West Ham fans should keep a close eye on the club’s developing interest in Liverpool hitman Divock Origi according to insider ExWHUemployee.

David Moyes’s need for a new centre-forward has been well-documented already this summer.

The Hammers boss currently has only Michail Antonio to call upon through the middle.

He could use the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma or Andriy Yarmolenko as auxiliary false nines. That would be far from ideal, however.

And the addition of another centre-forward should be an absolute necessity.

West Ham eyeing Origi swoop?

The 29-capped Belgium international is a potential transfer target for the Hammers this summer.

And ExWHUemployee suggested that Origi is certainly on West Ham’s radar, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night:

“Interesting to keep an eye on Origi. He’s someone we have ben interested in for a while. I think maybe a loan deal could happen for him. We’ve not made a move yet at this point.”

Origi wouldn’t be a bad addition for the Hammers. He certainly shouldn’t be Moyes’s number one target, however.

He has scored 35 goals in 157 games for the Reds (Transfermarkt) – hardly prolific numbers!

Origi has a lot of potential but he has never really lived up to the hype at Anfield.

Who knows though, perhaps he will come out of his shell and produce the goods if given a regular run of games at West Ham.

Whilst he wouldn’t be the West Ham fans’ first choice striker signing, we certainly could do a lot worse than signing the 26-year-old this summer.
