West Ham would make a huge statement by beating Liverpool to the signing of Hoffenheim left-back David Raum this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 24-year-old left-back to the London Stadium (BILD) whilst Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move to sign him as well (BILD).

BILD’s latest report claims West Ham are prepared to pay around £34 million for Raum but doesn’t namecheck Liverpool as a club who are chasing the Hoffenheim star.

We explained how good of a signing Raum would be for us yesterday.

And even if the the Reds are still eyeing up a move to bring the nine-capped Germany international to Anfield, we still believe that the Hammers are in a stronger position to win the race for his signature.

Raum is a truly elite full-back. He would be a huge upgrade on 32-year-old Aaron Cresswell at the London Stadium.

Moyes bringing him to West Ham would put us in a great position ahead of the 2022/23 season. And there is every chance that we can sign him…

West Ham could make big statement by signing Hoffenheim left-back this summer

BILD reckon that the Hammers owners are ready to splash the cash on David Raum.

And we firmly believe that there is every chance that the East London outfit can beat Liverpool to his signature in the summer transfer window.

The main reason for this is that the 24-year-old will have far greater opportunities to play regular Premier League action at the London Stadium than he would have at Anfield.

There is absolutely no way that Raum would instantly usurp Andy Robertson as Liverpool’s number one left-back.

And at this stage of his career, he surely wouldn’t want to move to Merseyside just to sit on the bench.

£34 million for the Germany international is good value as far as we’re concerned.

Raum was in absolutely exceptional form for Hoffenheim last season.

He bagged three goals and 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga games (Transfermarkt). Not bad for a left-back eh!

The German is powerfully built and possesses impressive pace. He has been described as a superb player by Football Talent Scout.

At 24, Raum is not even in the prime of his career. And he seems at the ideal stage to make the jump up from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.

And if West Ham win the race for the left-back this summer it will very much be our gain and Liverpool’s loss in my opinion.

Hopefully we can make a big transfer statement by signing David Raum.
