According to The Sun, Newcastle United are eyeing a summer move for alleged West Ham United target Ivan Toney.

Eurosport recently claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes is very keen to sign the prolific 24-year-old striker this summer.
And ExWHUemployee backed those claims up, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Thursday February 11th).
Toney is exactly the kind of striker West Ham should be looking to sign this summer.

So missing out on the Brentford ace to Newcastle would be a big blow for the Hammers.
West Ham to face competition from Newcastle for Ivan Toney?
The Sun claims that Magpies boss Steve Bruce wants to bring Toney to St James’ Park this summer.
Toney left Newcastle to join Peterborough in the summer of 2018.
The 24-year-old then joined Brentford last summer, and he has been absolutely on fire ever since.

The pacy striker has racked up 24 goals and nine assists in 31 league games so far (Transfermarkt). He has been the standout player in the Championship.
It seems as though Toney is more than ready to make the jump up to the Premier League.
The Sun (21 February, page 62) claims that either West Ham or Newcastle will have to pay around £25 million if they want to sign the Brentford ace this summer.
It remains to be seen whether the Hammers or the Toon will be prepared to lay out that kind of cash for a player from the Championship. It must be said that that fee would represent excellent value, however.
One huge factor in West Ham’s favour could be potential European football.
If we carry on our current form we should easily finish inside the top six. And then it will be very hard for Newcastle to beat us to Toney’s signature.
