West Ham could go back in for Brentford full-back Rico Henry in January according to a report from the Athletic but we could face competition from Aston Villa for his signature.

Hammers boss David Moyes wanted to bring the Bees ace to the London Stadium in the summer, according to club insiders Claret and Hugh. The Daily Mail claimed that the 23-year-old would have cost the Hammers just £5 million.
Deciding against signing Rico Henry now looks like a huge mistake for West Ham.

Arthur Masuaku is out for the foreseeable future having undergone surgery on his troublesome knee. The 27-year-old’s absence has forced David Moyes into reverting to four at the back.
The Hammers look much weaker when setting up in that system.
Had we signed Rico Henry, however, we would have been able to persist with the 5-2-3 formation that worked so well earlier in the season.
The Athletic claims that West Ham could go back in for the 23-year-old in January.
The Brentford star can operate at left-back or in the left wing-back position. For just £5 million, he would be an absolute steal for the Hammers.

Thomas Frank recently described Rico Henry as one of the most talented players in the division (Sussex Live).
The Brentford boss also labelled the Birmingham-born ace as ‘amazing’ (Richmond and Twickenham Times).
There is no doubt that the former Walsall ace is ready to take the step up to the next level.
Whether West Ham will be able to beat Aston Villa to his signature, however, remains to be seen.
After the Villans won the race for Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash in the summer, it would be nice if the Hammers could get their own back on the west Midlands outfit.
