West Ham have signed Arsenal right-back and England international Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan.
West Ham pipped other Premier League clubs to the signature of the right-back, which is a delightful signing considering his age, the club he came from and his desire to succeed at any level in football.
Arsenal have allowed Carl Jenkinson to join the Hammers on a season-long loan as they have signed Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy this summer for £28 million in total.
With Jordan Spence leaving the club, Joey O’Brien was the next player to fill in at the full-back position but the West Ham board have moved wisely and have signed Aaron Cresswell as well as Jenkinson now. This was a position that the owners were desperate to fill up as Guy Demel was our own first-team right-back.
Jenkinson stated in his WHUFCTV interview that he’s 100% committed to playing to his full potential for West Ham this season and has already complimented how great the West Ham supporters are, so he has got off on the right foot before he’s even played a match for the Claret and Blue!
Up The Hammers.
Welcome Jenkinson!
