The West Ham United vultures should be circling the Seagulls to solve two problem positions.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is targeting two strikers, a midfielder, left-back and back-up goalkeeper this summer.
And he could fill two of those positions with a double raid on relegation-threatened Brighton.
West Ham should pounce if Seagulls drop
The Seagulls face an anxious battle for survival with two games to play.
Brighton must play Arsenal and Manchester City in their final two games. So Chris Hughton’s side know the draw against Newcastle on Saturday could prove priceless.
However should they lose both and Cardiff win theirs then Brighton will drop.
And if they do West Ham should pounce for star duo Yves Bissouma and Bernardo.
Brighton duo just what Pellegrini needs
Bissouma, 22, is a powerful and athletic all-action midfielder who has been a bit hit this season.
Brazilian Bernando, 23, has been another solid performer in a difficult season for the Seagulls.
The pair were fantastic in Brighton’s harsh last gasp defeat to Tottenham last time out.
Attractive bargains for West Ham’s tight budget
Both would improve West Ham’s first team and should Brighton be relegated Pellegrini could pick up a couple of bargains.
He could well do with a few of those too given that reports claim he will have a base budget of just £30million to spend this summer (Claret & Hugh).
Bissouma and Bernardo cost Brighton a combined total of around £20 million.
They would likely be happy to recoup that same figure if they have to cut their cloth in the Championship.
