West Ham United allegedly may go back in with a bid for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri this summer and could pick him up for a much reduced fee.

That’s according to a report from Mundo Deportivo who claim that Sevilla are now willing to accept less than €30 million (£26 million) for the 25-year-old striker.

The Hammers lodged a bid totalling £27 million for the Morocco international back in January 2021 according to a report from The Athletic.

That bid was rejected though. Sevilla were reportedly asking for around £40 million for En-Nesyri (La Razon).

And West Ham have now gone 18 months with Michail Antonio as our only striker after Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax in January 2021.

That obviously has to change before the start of next season if the Hammers are to compete on all fronts.

And it seems as though we may well gave a chance to sign one of our old transfer targets for a greatly reduced fee…

West Ham could make En-Nesyri bid

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Hammers are still keen on the 25-year-old hitman and we could pick him up for ‘less than £26 million’.

Beware though…En-Nesyri has just endured a really poor season with Sevilla.

We outlined right here on Hammers News a couple of weeks ago how David Moyes had a lucky escape by failing to sign the Morocco international.

En-Nesyri scored just five La Liga goals for Sevilla in 34 games this season (Soccerbase).

In fact, after the links with West Ham in January 2021, the 24-year-old has bagged only 13 goals in 54 games for the Spanish club (Soccerbase).

The Moroccan did absolutely nothing against us in the Europa League last-16 tie over both legs. He looked like he couldn’t handle the physicality of our defenders which says a lot about his chances of succeeding in the Premier League.

It proves that most of the time, patience and due diligence is the best policy. That said, Moyes must sign a top-class striker this summer. We absolutely cannot go another season with Antonio as our only option up top.

We just don’t think that making a bid for En-Nesyri will be in the best interest of West Ham United football club this summer.
