West Ham look set for an exciting end to what has been a barren winter window with as many as four deals in the offing.

West Ham are closing in on the signing of striker Evan Ferguson from Brighton.

The 20-year-old Irishman has been in east London today having his West Ham medical.

Providing that has gone well, a deal is set to be announced for the Hammers to sign Ferguson on loan until the end of the season.

West Ham had made Ferguson their prime target since Graham Potter’s arrival as Julen Lopetegui’s replacement last month.

But the Hammers had concerns a deal might not be possible due to an ongoing ankle injury.

Ferguson has returned to training and match action with Brighton this week.

That was enough to convince the Hammers to press ahead with a deal.

A top club insider has today revealed West Ham made a compromise with Brighton for Ferguson.

West Ham burst into life for deadline day

The Seagulls wanted to sell outright and the Hammers wanted an option to buy rather than obligation.

In the end it’s being reported Ferguson will sign on a straight loan – but clearly with both sides having intentions for the departure to be permanent in the summer depending on how things work out.

Ferguson brings an end to West Ham’s long search for a top young striker.

However, with ageing misfit Danny Ings out of contract at the end of the season, soon-to-be 35-year-old Michail Antonio’s future in football uncertain after his car crash and Niclas Fullkrug having barely featured due to injury, the Hammers aren’t done there.

West Ham are also closing in on a deal to sign young Celtic striker Daniel Cummings.

Celtic have been desperately trying to persuade Cummings to sign a new deal.

But the 18-year-old has been in talks with West Ham over a pre-contract for a free transfer in the summer.

West Ham working on exciting triple striker deal

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers all but confirmed Cummings’ move to West Ham as he angrily hit out at the player’s agent.

It was revealed last night that West Ham are now trying to sign Cummings before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

Sky Sports have now confirmed the Hammers have offered Celtic £500k for Cummings to do a deal now.

Failing that the Hammers are expected to agree a pre-contract for the top Scottish prospect.

An exciting third striker move for another 18-year-old hot prospect is also being worked on by West Ham.

New head of recruitment Kyle Macauley is making an instant impact at West Ham in terms of the profile of player being targeted.

Romano says West Ham signing midfielder also a possibility

That’s clear as Sky Sports’s leading reporter Dharmesh Sheth has confirmed West Ham are continuing talks with Lorient over a possible deal for Eli Junior Kroupi.

The super sharp forward has been likened to a young Kylian Mbappe, Thierry Henry and Hugo Ekitike – to whom he has been the heir at Lorient.

The report claims West Ham have offered the Ligue 2 leaders £35m for Kroupi.

It is claimed the proposal includes an initial fee of £15m plus £10m if Kroupi reaches a certain number of games and another £10m if he scores a certain number of goals.

The Hammers are awaiting a decision from Lorient owner Loic Fery before Monday’s deadline.

That’s not all, though, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, the transfer reporter says West Ham could add one more midfielder – saying ‘yes it’s a possibility’.

Chelsea duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – who have been linked with the Hammers for some time – were both mentioned as targets.

But Romano has added further intrigue by suggesting the midfielder signing won’t be either of those players.

There’s rarely a dull moment at West Ham.

The next 24 hours or so are hotting up to be not only exciting but mark a seismic – and long overdue – shift in West Ham’s recruitment.
