West Ham have been dealt a truly huge blow with Sky Sports reporting that Tottenham are now in talks to sign Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

The Hammers seemed all set to bring the 23-year-old defender to the London Stadium this summer.
A fee was agreed with Fiorentina as were personal terms with the player himself.

The Serbia international’s agent was demanding extortionate fees, however (ExWHUemployee). And things have just got a whole lot worse.
West Ham blow as Tottenham hijack Milenkovic deal
Spurs are now in talks to sign the towering Serbian according to a report from Sky Sports.
Missing out on Milenkovic having been so close to signing him would have been bad enough as a standalone issue.

But if Tottenham go on to sign him it will make the whole situation even harder for the West Ham fans to stomach.
Milenkovic would have been the absolute perfect signing for West Ham. Why we are haggling over agents fees is absolutely baffling.
The Serbian will be worth £40 million as soon as he signs a long-term contract with whichever club he moves to.
The fact that we were getting him for such a good deal should have balanced out what his agent was asking for. But alas, our board didn’t see it that way.
And now Tottenham have allegedly swooped in for Fiorentina defender Milenkovic.

Things could be about to go from bad to worse for West Ham United very quickly indeed.
No Hammers fans would say that it is entirely unexpected, however.
