West Ham face the prospect of missing out to Leeds in the race for the signature of Junior Firpo according to Mundo Deportivo (print edition, June26th, page 3).

Hammers boss David Moyes has actually already made an offer for the 24-year-old Barcelona left-back according to a report from Mundo Deportivo (print edition, June 24th, page 18).
Left-back is certainly an area where West Ham should be looking to strengthen.
And Firpo would be a very strong addition for the Hammers. It seems as though the East London outfit have their work cut-out, however.

West Ham blow as Leeds now ahead in race for Firpo
Mundo Deportivo (print edition, June26th, page 3) now claims that Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa is at the front of the queue to sign the 24-year-old Barca ace.
And it would not surprise us one little bit if Leeds manage to wrap up a deal to sign Firpo within the next week or so – a player West Ham have been chasing for 18 months apparently!
Other clubs seem to be getting deals to sign players done and dusted with the minimum of fuss.

Aston Villa signing Emi Buendia and Ashley Young, Norwich bringing Milot Rashica to Carrow Road and Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate proves that business CAN be done whilst a European Championship is being played.
Leeds may well be the next club to add to that list.
Marcelo Bielsa is certainly overseeing an exciting project at Elland Road. Moyes is doing the same at the London Stadium but it seems as though the Scot is always fighting with one hand tied behind his back.

And losing out on Firpo to the Whites would be big blow for West Ham considering his talent and our need to find a long-term replacement for Aaron Cresswell.
