West Ham are back in for Club Brugge midfielder Hans Vanaken according to a report from Voetbal 24.

The Sun and Voetbal 24 recently claimed that David Moyes wants to bring the 28-year-old to the London Stadium.

And the 10-capped Belgium international is charmed by the idea of joining West Ham according to Voetbal 24.

It has been well-documented that signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United on a permanent deal is David Moyes’s priority this summer.

Should the Hammers miss out on the 28-year-old, however, Moyes will have to move for a like-for-like alternative.

West Ham back in for Hans Vanaken

Voetbal 24 claims that the East London outfit are closely watching the 28-year-old’s situation with Club Brugge considering selling him.

We think Vanaken would be an excellent addition for the Hammers if we fail to land Lingard this summer.

He could be available for around £13 million according to Sky Sports.

The 28-year-old racked up 16 goals and seven assists in 45 games in all competitions for Club Brugge last season (Transfermarkt).

A goalscoring midfielder – someone who breaks the lines and makes runs into the opposition’s penalty area would be a really useful asset for West Ham next season.

And Vanaken fits that mould to a tee.

We would still love to see Lingard signed permanently. If that doesn’t happen, however, the Club Brugge ace would be a more than sufficient alternative for West Ham.
