It’s all change at West Ham United this summer, with Julen Lopetegui seemingly intent on ringing the changes.

Julen Lopetegui has made three signings for West Ham already in the summer transfer window, and he’s targeting another three at the very least.

However, there will undoubtedly be some exits from the London Stadium as well, as the Hammers look to stick to the strict new PSR guidelines.

Said Benrahma, Thilo Kehrer, Flynn Downes, Ben Johnson and Nathan Trott have already been moved on by Lopetegui.

However, the West Ham head coach’s work is far from finished. I believe there will definitely be at least one more big money exit this summer.

And one player in particular seems to be primed for the chop before the transfer window slams shut next month…

West Ham are open to selling Nayef Aguerd

According to a report from TEAMtalk, West Ham are open to selling Nayef Aguerd this summer, with numerous Saudi Pro League clubs chasing his signature.

The Morocco international joined the Hammers from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for around £30 million (BBC).

And TEAMtalk are claiming that West Ham are demanding exactly the same fee for the centre-back this summer.

Let’s hope that the mega-rich Saudi clubs save us with a big offer for the 28-year-old – he’s just not good enough to play Premier League football.

Don’t get me wrong, he has his strengths, like his impressive pace and quality when in possession of the football.

However, his skillset does not suit English football one little bit.

He doesn’t have the concentration levels, positional awareness or discipline to play as a central defender in the Premier League.

Aguerd is incredibly weak in the challenge, and seems to get bullied by opposing players on a regular basis.

The Hammers defender has become a target for the opposition time and time again, and that causes us major problems every single time he plays.

It’s such a shame because when he moved to the London Stadium, he actually looked like he was a really good player.

If West Ham manage to get £30 million for Nayef Aguerd, or anything like that for that matter, it will be really good business for the club.
