The Daily Mail have claimed that West Ham want to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope this summer. Some Hammers fans think the rumour is hilarious, however.

Largely due to the fact that Clarets boss Sean Dyche is demanding around £50 million for the 28-year-old (Lancs Live).

West Ham should be looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Lukasz Fabianski will be 36 before the start of next season and Darren Randolph is on the wrong side of 33. The Pole and the Irishman are also incredibly injury prone.

David Moyes does have some talented young goalkeepers coming through the ranks at the London Stadium including the likes of Nathan Trott and Joseph Anang.

None of them are ready to be playing regular Premier League football, however.

Nick Pope would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.

The 28-year-old has been superb for the Clarets since moving to Turf Moor in the summer of 2016. He has let in just 123 goals in 108 games for Sean Dyche’s side, whilst keeping 42 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

£50 million is clearly too much money for the Hammers to spend on a goalkeeper this summer, however.

And some West Ham fans have taken the claims that David Moyes wants to bring Nick Pope to the London Stadium with a pinch of salt…
