West Ham and Everton are both interested in signing Shinji Kagawa, according to reports in Turkey. Turkish media outlet Takvim reports that West Ham, Everton, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen are vying for Kagawa this summer.
The attacking midfielder is currently at Besiktas, on loan from Borussia Dortmund, but the Turkish club could face a battle to keep him.
Who is Shinji Kagawa?
Kagawa is well-known to English football fans for his two-year stint with Manchester United. The Japan international scored six goals in 57 games during his time at Old Trafford.
Before and after his time in England, Kagawa played for Borussia Dortmund and he has racked up a total of 60 goals for the Bundesliga side.
But with game time limited this season, the 30-year-old moved to Besiktas on loan in January and has scored three and assisted one in just six games in Turkey.
This has alerted West Ham, Everton and the Bundesliga duo, who could make moves for him in the summer. Takvim report that Borussia Dortmund will demand €12.5m (just less than £11m) for the Japanese midfielder.
West Ham currently have plenty of options in attacking midfield but if some players leave, they could launch a bid for Kagawa.
