The salary West Ham United and Everton free agent target Thiago Silva expects at his next club has been revealed.

West Ham and Everton are reportedly both seriously interested in signing Brazilian defender Silva this summer.

According to 90 Min, West Ham and Everton are one of five English clubs chasing Silva.

Silva, 35, is out of contract and leaves Paris Saint Germain a free agent.

Despite his age, that is appealing to West Ham, Everton and a host of clubs.

West Ham and Everton want Silva lining

But particularly West Ham who have let it be known they will not have much money to spend in the next window.

Finances are not an issue for Everton.

But Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti was the man who brought Silva to both AC Milan and PSG and remains a keen admirer of the centre back.

West Ham are in desperate need of new central defenders. Winston Reid has joined MLS where he is expected to remain if a permanent deal can be agreed.

And Fabian Balbuena is expected to be sold while Angelo Ogbonna is not getting any younger either.

Brazilian wants huge £9m per year salary at next club – report

While West Ham wait to decide their Premier League fate over the next six weeks, Everton have reportedly made the first move for Silva.

The Express claims Everton have already offered Silva a one-year deal with the option for a second year.

But signing Silva could cost West Ham and Everton £9million just for one season according to a new report from Italy.

Fiorentina have also made a move for Silva. But La Gazzetta dello Sport and Football Italia claim the club’s offer of £4.5million per year was just half what Silva is demanding – a cool £9million.

As a result the Serie A club have taken a step back from negotiations. That leaves the path clear for the likes of West Ham and Everton but Silva’s £9million salary demands will surely prove restrictive.

Wage demands and Ancelotti make Everton favourites

That kind of money may not be an issue for Everton.

But it is highly unlikely West Ham would front up that kind of cash for anyone, let alone a 35-year-old.

Superior finances and having Ancelotti as boss would surely make Everton favourites.

Bernard and Yerry Mina are Everton’s top paid stars on £120,000 per week – £6.24million per year (Spotrac).
