Hammers boss David Moyes absolutely must bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium.
It could be argued that the additions of two strikers and a central midfielder should be the Scot’s priorities this summer.
With Fabian Balbuena set to leave West Ham and Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson now 33 and 31 respectively, signing a new top class centre-back with youth on his side may well be a more urgent matter than it seems to be on the surface.

West Ham to battle Crystal Palace for Joe Worrall?
The Athletic claims that the Hammers and Palace are both keen to sign the 24-year-old this summer.
In fact, the East London outfit have allegedly already made an enquiry for Worrall (The Sun).
We think the Forest ace would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.
The Athletic claims that the Hammers would have to pay around £10 million for Worrall – stunning value in today’s market.
In 31 Championship outings this season, Worrall averaged 0.7 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 4.2 clearances and 0.9 blocks per game. He has also won an average of 2.2 aerial duals per match during those appearances (Who Scored).
Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Worrall is a man mountain of a centre-back. He is big, strong and very dominant in the air.
