West Ham ace Tomas Soucek responded to rumours linking him with a move to Bayern Munich, when speaking to Czech media outlet CT Sport.

TEAMtalk claimed on Saturday that Bundesliga giants Bayern want to sign the 25-year-old Hammers star.

And West Ham are allegedly preparing a new contract offer for Soucek in order to fend off interest from the Bavarians.

The Czech Republic international has been superb since joining the Hammers in January.

Soucek made his move to West Ham a permanent one in July. And he hasn’t looked back since.

The former Slavia Prague ace has scored six goals in 25 Premier League games for the Hammers. He is an absolutely vital member of David Moyes’s squad.

The Scot will be desperate to keep him at the London Stadium for the long-term.

Soucek spoke to CT Sport and responded when asked about Bayern Munich’s alleged interest:

“A lot of people ask me about it. I have an agreement with my agent Pavel Paska that I don’t want to talk about it until something is on the table. That’s how I had it at Slavia, that I transferred for three years and we were still in contact with the coaches and Mr. [Slavia president Jaroslav] Tvrdík. I didn’t even deal with those clubs. So, I’m at peace in West Ham and I’m enjoying the time here. But it’s definitely nice to read or hear [these rumours], it gives me strength for matches and I’m happy for that. I’m not dealing with such offers yet.”

If we’re being honest here, Soucek was hardly convincing.

The most worrying thing about the Czech’s comments is when he said, ‘I’m not dealing with such offers yet’. ‘Yet’ being the key word.

Either way he didn’t completely rule out the possibility of leaving West Ham at some point in the future.

It is absolutely vital that we keep hold of Soucek. The Hammers need to pay him whatever he wants in order to keep him at the London Stadium.

The 25-year-old has made such a huge difference to West Ham, and losing him so soon after signing him would be an absolute travesty.
