The 27-year-old left the Argentinian side to link up with Al Jazira in 2014.
The South American then joined West Ham on loan in the summer of 2015, before making his move to east London a permanent one the following summer for around £9 million (Daily Mail).

Lanzini enjoyed a wonderful first two or three years with the Hammers.
Play-maker has really struggled this season
But his form has drastically dipped over the past 12 months.
And there have been suggestions that West Ham could now be open to selling the 27-year-old. Something that would have been unthinkable this time last year.
The Argentine spoke exclusively to BOLAVIP, and admitted that he is pining for a return to River Plate at some point in the future:

“Deciding or considering the future is difficult. I would love to be able to return to River, I miss going out to the Monumental, living day by day and listening to the songs.”
Lanzini is obviously talking about a potential return some way off in the future.
It would be no surprise to see the east London club move the Argentine on, however. Especially if they are offered a decent amount for his services this summer,
He has been a shadow of his former self recently.
And perhaps a return to Argentina to play for River Plate would be the ideal solution for the West Ham star this summer.
