Marko Arnautovic wants to leave West Ham United for a mega money move to China.
Arnautovic’s agent and brother Danijel told talkSPORT the West Ham talisman has made his mind up.
The Hammers have taken a hardline stance and issued a short statement insisting their talisman is not for sale.
It comes after Arnautovic was the subject of a £35million bid from a Chinese club – believed to be Shanghai SIPG.
The reports and statement from Arnautovic’s agent has understandably angered West Ham fans.
Arnie silence is deafening
But it is the silence from the player himself that is deafening.
Many fans had hoped the striker would come out and dismiss the rumours.
It is somewhat ominous that he hasn’t.
West Ham and their fans have been here before in the not too distant past. The similarities with the Dimitri Payet saga are striking.
It was this time two years ago the maverick Frenchman downed tools to force a move back to Marseille.
Back then the club insisted he would not be sold. But an unhappy Payet started to unsettle the squad and West Ham agreed to cut him loose.
Glum or just Arnie being Arnie?
Judging by pictures from West Ham training this week they could be in for another bumpy ride with Arnautovic.
The Austrian was captured on camera during training ahead of the big game against Arsenal.
And is is fair to say he did not look too happy.
Of course many would argue he rarely does.
But we’ll let you be the judge from these pictures above and below.
Pellegrini at striker crossroads
This week one of Arnautovic’s former teammates Steve Sidwell talked up a move to Chelsea – read more here.
It certainly leaves Pellegrini at a bit of a crossroads over strikers.
Injury-prone Andy Carroll is out of contract in the summer. Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez have both failed to establish themselves at West Ham and have been linked with moves away.
Arnautovic showed just how vital he is to West Ham with three goals in his last two games which secured a comeback draw against Brighton and set the Hammers on their way to a 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham.
West Ham take on Arsenal at the London Stadium on Saturday with Arnautovic expected to start up front.
