With West Ham on the verge of securing the signature of Ecuadorian Enner Valencia, let me introduce you to the man who took the World Cup by storm in the Group Stages…
Enner Valencia, 24, started his career for Emelec where he scored a total of 27 goals in 124 appearances in all competitions which doesn’t help our fans understand why we’d pay such a heavy for him.
At the beginning of 2014, Valencia signed for Pachuca and he scored an amazing 18 goals in 23 matches so Ecuador manager Reinaldo Rueda had no choice to put him in his World Cup squad.
Then, the magic happened for Valencia at the FIFA World Cup 2014… Enner Valencia scored in Ecuador’s first Group Stage match against Switzerland where they unfortunately lost 2-1. He then scored an impressive two goals in Ecuador’s Group Stage match versus Honduras in which his country gained all 3 points. Also, he scored an impressive goal versus England in Miami in a friendly match just before the FIFA World Cup 2014 started.
Enner Valencia boosted his price tag by scoring so many goals for his club and country in 1 season. Also, many of pundits, reporters and journalists believe that £12 million is far too much for someone with little experience in any other league apart from the Ecuadorian league, but he is ready to prove everyone wrong and succeed with West Ham in the Premier League and build on their 13th position from last season.
COME ON YOU IRONS.
