West Ham’s hopes of signing Maxi Gomez appear to be dwindling. According to Spanish media outlet Faro de Vigo, Valencia have made a serious breakthrough in negotiations with Celta Vigo.
Valencia will reportedly launch a €15m (roughly £13.5m) bid for Gomez. But their trump card will be swapping players in a part-exchange. According to this report, Valencia have proposed three players as part of this deal to sign Gomez.
Valencia offer three players to Celta Vigo
Valencia have offered two youth players and one senior player to Celta Vigo. The senior player is Santi Mina, who would be a like-for-like replacement for Gomez up front.
The 23-year-old scored 13 goals last season and has 42 goals for Valencia in total. Prior to that, he scored 12 in just over 50 games for Celta Vigo so they would welcome him back.
Alongside Mina, Celta Vigo have offered two young players. Jorge Saenz de Miera has only just joined the club from Tenerife but he could be on his way to Celta Vigo.
The 22-year-old centre-back, who stands at 6ft 4in tall, will head to Celta Vigo but Valencia will have a buy-back clause. Celta Vigo will only own half of the rights to the Spain U21 starlet.
Kangin Lee (also known as Lee Kang-in) is the other youngster expected to head to Celta Vigo if this deal goes ahead. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has impressed for Valencia’s youth side and the South Korean U20 national team.
