The Hammers and the Whites both want to sign the 24-year-old midfield terrier according to Centotrentuno.

In fact, West Ham and Leeds have been chasing Nandez for quite some time.

David Moyes needs to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium. The same can be said of Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

It seems as though Leeds have two clear advantages over West Ham in the race to sign Nandez, however.

Hammers have their work cut-out

Firstly, Centotrentuno claims that Cagliari will demand around £32 million for the the Uruguay international. The west Yorkshire outfit clearly have more financial muscle than the east Londoners.

Secondly, Nandez’s agent Pablo Bentancur told Argentine outlet El Crack Deportivo that his client wants to play for Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

The diminutive Uruguayan seems to have all of the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Soccer Souls describe the tenacious midfielder as ‘outstanding’.

In seven Serie A appearances this season, Nandez has averaged two tackles per game and has a pass completion rate of 75.8% from 33 passes per game (Who Scored). With those numbers, the 24-year-old would be an exceptional addition for either West Ham or Leeds.

It would be no surprise if both clubs were desperately keen to sign him in January.

As things stand, however, it is easy to surmise that the Whites are in a far better position than the Hammers to bring the Cagliari ace to the Premier League.
