Early transfer dealings are a good thing!
It has been widely reported in the press that West Ham United have concluded deals for two midfielders, ready for the 2016/17 season.
Slaven Bilic has confirmed what we already knew about Manuel Lanzini; that our other star midfielder is joining on a permanent contract. It is wonderful news for the club, as when in the team, he offers us the opportunity to move up the pitch. His ball retention is amazing, and his skill on the ball allows him time to make the correct pass. With him and Payet in the team, we are a real attacking threat. Lanzini has just come back into the team, so will use the next few weeks to get back up to match fitness. I have to admit, I was a little bit worried that another club could come in for ‘The Jewel’ but I feel his relationship with Slaven Bilic is a key factor in us keeping him.
So who is the second signing? Well I’m only going on the rumours, but it appears Havard Nordtveit is the next new signing for us. Nordtveit is currently playing in the Bundesliga for Borussia Monchengladbach. Monchengladbach have become big players in the German league again over the last few years. Nordtveit has played 200+ games for them, popping up with the odd goal here and there. His main job though,is a holding midfielder. It appears he has been a keen player for the Germans, so to pick up a 25 year old, with Champions League experience, and a Norwegian International; for free, is a top piece of business for the club!
I love the fact that business has started for next season, and although not a marquee signing, this early business has got us ahead of our competitors already.
