Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez is a top target for West Ham, according to various reports.
The Daily Express has recently reported that West Ham are mulling over whether to trigger Gomez’s £44m release clause.
The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 18 La Liga games for Celta Vigo this season so West Ham are understandably interested.
The Uruguay international also scored 17 La Liga goals last season after moving from South America.
West Ham have identified Gomez as a potential replacement for Marko Arnautovic, although the Austrian’s China move is in doubt, as per The Daily Mail.

With West Ham strongly linked with Gomez, a number of Hammers fans decided to watch him in action on Saturday as Celta Vigo hosted Valencia.
But Gomez had a poor game and has been criticised by a handful of West Ham supporters on social media.
Some Hammers fans speculated that his head was turned and others said he was too slow, suggesting West Ham need to look elsewhere.
Here are a selection of tweets from West Ham fans who watched Gomez in Celta Vigo’s loss to Valencia.
