Tony Gale sends tongue-in-cheek threat to Declan Rice as he delivers verdict on star's West Ham future

West Ham United star Declan Rice has been linked with a move away from the club.

Rice has been one of the most talked about players of the summer.

The West Ham midfielder was one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League last season.

His performances saw him break into the England team.

And according to widespread reports they also attracted the attention of leading clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United (The Guardian).

The 20-year-old has insisted he is happy at West Ham.

And further proof, if it were needed, that he intends to stick around came when he even told supporters looking to have his name on their shirts that he would be wearing the number 41 again next season (Express).

Speaking to Sky Sports News, West Ham legend Tony Gale has warned Rice to think twice about leaving. And he predicts Rice will remain in East London.

Hammers legend Gale sends Dec threat

“He’s not going anywhere, I’ll kill him if he goes!” Gale told Sky Sports News.

“I know Dec and I tell you what he’s a quality lad as well as a quality player.

“I think even he realises he needs another year at West Ham.

“His game has come on leaps and bounds. Now in this next season he’s got to be the guy that looks forward and just take his game on that bit more.

Rice remains but Arnie wants out again?

“But he’s got it in his locker, he’s a top player.”

While Rice might well be staying at West Ham, Marko Arnautovic may not.

The Austrian has once again been linked with a move after reportedly handing in a transfer request (Sky Sports).
