talkSPORT may have just given a major insight into West Ham United’s hopes of signing Jesse Lingard permanently this summer.
David Moyes is desperate to get Lingard signed permanently for West Ham following his brilliant spell on loan from Man United.
But while West Ham have everything crossed they might be able to do a deal, the 28-year-old’s future appears to be somewhat uncertain right now.
Speculation has been rife as to whether Man United will sell or try to get Lingard to sign a new deal.
West Ham desperate to sign Lingard but future uncertain
There has even been talk the Red Devils could try and use Lingard as a makeweight in deals with other clubs or even West Ham in their own move for Declan Rice.
Lingard was snubbed for England’s Euro squad despite his scintillating West Ham form which saw him record more goal involvements than any other English player behind only Harry Kane.
West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh claim that could have a silver lining for West Ham with talks now set to begin earlier than anticipated over a deal to sign him from Man United.
Have talkSPORT just dropped major Hammers Lingard hint after Pearce visit
And eagle-eyed West Ham fans may read between the lines following the appearance of West Ham assistant Stuart Pearce on talkSPORT today.
Pearce raved about Lingard when he appeared on talkSPORT – for whom he has worked for several years.
The Hammers assistant said Lingard is a perfect fit at West Ham and with Moyes.
And no sooner had Pearce been interviewed than talkSPORT ran a story claiming West Ham were hopeful of getting a permanent deal done for the midfield ace.
“West Ham will reportedly step up their bid to sign Jesse Lingard permanently from Manchester United following his England heartache,” talkSPORT reports.
“And Hammers coach Stuart Pearce has told talkSPORT the midfielder fit in perfectly at the London Stadium, saying he’s a perfect match for David Moyes’ playing style…
Has Pearce slipped talkSPORT some inside info on Lingard hopes?
“It is said the Hammers manager believes a permanent transfer from United can soon be concluded, as talks no longer have to wait until after this summer’s tournament to end.
“A club insider told The Sun newspaper: “Jesse knows we want him, so hopefully the club will pursue him in the next month or so.”
It can be no coincidence that talkSPORT have run their positive update immediately after Pearce’s appearance on the White and Jordan Show.
Sometimes two and two does make four.
West Ham fans will be dearly hoping it soon comes to fruition.
