Since then though, Hammers boss David Moyes has strengthened his central midfield ranks with the signings of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.
However, that doesn’t mean that Moyes is done with strengthening his engine room it seems…
Surprise Scott McTominay claim made, with West Ham having already signed Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse
The Man United midfielder is bracing himself for a move from the Hammers to try and sign him before the transfer window slams shut next Friday, according to a report from the Evening Standard.
I have to say, it’s highly unlikely that West Ham will sign McTominay, with Moyes having brought two high quality central midfielders to the London Stadium already this summer.
The Scotland international is a very good player, and I think he would be a great addition for the Hammers.

However, there is quite simply nowhere for the Man United man to fit into Moyes’s team now. It will already be hard enough for the Scot to find a way of playing Alvarez and Ward-Prowse together with Lucas Paqueta and Tomas Soucek seemingly shoo-ins to start right now.
I just can’t see a scenario whereby Scott McTominay will join West Ham from Manchester United this summer.
David Moyes has far more pressing priorities than signing another central midfielder before the transfer window closes, that’s for sure.
