Striker West Ham bid big money for is now available for £20m less as club considers selling - report

West Ham United are desperate for at least one new striker in the summer.

Do new reports give clearest indication yet over Lingard’s West Ham future?

Hammers boss David Moyes has money from the sale of Sebastien Haller banked and insisted he wanted to hold off until the summer window to ensure he got the player HE wanted.

West Ham have been linked with a plethora of strikers in the last few months.

Moyes has striker priority this summer

But a familiar name may enter West Ham’s crosshairs again after a new report from Italy.

That’s because Torino and Italy forward Andrea Belotti is said to be available – and at a hugely discounted price from the last time West Ham tried to sign him.

The Hammers have long been linked with a move for the 27-year-old Italian (Sky Sports, Forza Italian Football).

In fact the likes of Tuttosport and Calcio Mercato claimed West Ham offered £55million for Belotti in the summer of 2019.

Torino wanted upwards of £60 million, though and the move failed to materialise (Forza Italian Football).

West Ham “offered £55m” for Belotti but could now get him for less than £30m

It is easy to see why West Ham wanted Belotti. He has a fearsome strike record for club and country. Belotti has notched 103 goals in 218 games for Torino and has a record of better than one in three for Italy with 11 goals in 32 games.

At the time he was viewed as the ideal strike partner for Haller at West Ham. But he could end up being his replacement.

Now, according to a new report from Football Italia, the forward could be sold for £29m this summer after refusing to sign a new contract.

Torino could be forced to sell star man at discounted price – report

“Andrea Belotti’s future remains up in the air and according to reports in Italy, he could leave Torino in the summer for €35m (£29m),” Football Italia reports.

“The 27-year-old will see his contract expire in 2022… it remains to be seen whether the Italy international will agree to commit his future to the club.

“If Belotti refuses to sign a contract extension with Torino in the coming months, the Serie A strugglers may be forced to sell their star striker for just €35m, reports Tuttosport.”

That figure is the kind of money West Ham will likely have to spend to land any of their top targets.

One of Moyes’s supposed prime targets, Abdallah Sima, is valued at a similar amount by Slavia Prague.

Chelsea won’t accept much less for Tammy Abraham if they consider selling to the Hammers.

And West Ham’s reported Championship striker targets Adam Armstrong and Ivan Toney are expected to be valued north of £25m too.

West Ham run-in predicted but do Moyes’s boys make the Champions League?
