West Ham close to signing the “Gentle Giant”
Lacina Traore is close to signing a loan deal at West Ham United which will end at the end of the season. The 6ft8 “Gentle Giant” signed on loan from Monaco who he had just joined for a fee reportedly to be around €15 Million from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
With West Ham struggling with Strikers Traore seems like the perfect short term fix although Andy Carroll is back from his long 7 months out, it will take him between 5-8 games to be back to full match fitness.
At one point the deal for the big Ivorian looked like it wasn’t going to happen as he had to be granted a work permit which was also made more difficult because he had not played 75% of international games since being called up to play for Ivory Coast . But lucky for us the “Gentle Giant” was classed as an exceptional talent who can contribute to the development of the English game.
The 23 year old Ivorian had a decent goal scoring record netting 64 goals in 138 appearances for his club teams and for his county he has scored 4 goals in 7 games which is brilliant considering his young age
I believe the club will confirm his arrival in the coming days.
