Jarrod Bowen finally joined West Ham late last night, after his contract demands had earlier threatened to derail the deal.
The 23-year-old moved to the London Stadium for around £22 million, according to Sky Sports, and has signed a five-and-a-half year deal with the east London outfit.
Signing Bowen will give West Ham a massive boost heading into this afternoon’s clash with Brighton, in spite of the fact that the former Hull man is not eligible to play.
All in all, it was a decent window for the Hammers. They brought in Darren Randolph and Bowen on permanent deals, whilst Tomas Soucek arrived on loan for the rest of the season. West Ham do have an option to make the Czech’s move to east London a permanent one in the summer, however.
Sure, West Ham could have done with one or two more, but Bowen’s quality makes up for the lack of numbers brought in.
The 23-year-old former Hereford man was absolutely on fire in the Championship this season, racking up 16 goals and seven assists in 29 outings for the Tigers (Who Scored).
So the Hammers fans will undoubtedly be happy to get their man. Although they are clearly not overly enamoured with everything else going on at the club.
Many West Ham fans still want David Sullivan and David Gold to sell up, and some of them hijacked the latter’s tweet confirming that Bowen had signed for the club:
