According to a report from Sky Sports (Live Transfer Blog 19:46), West Ham have offered Jarrod Bowen a contract worth £80,000 per week.
Sky Sports reported earlier today (Live Transfer Blog 08:00) that the Hammers had agreed a £20 million fee with Hull City for the 23-year-old attacker.
Sky Sports then claimed at 14:58 via their live transfer feed that talks between West Ham and Bowen had stalled due to disagreements over personal terms.
Reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee suggested that Bowen was unhappy with a relegation wage deduction clause that the Hammers wanted inserted in his contract:
Sky Sports now claim (Live Transfer Blog 19:46) that Bowen is on his way to the London Stadium to meet David Moyes.
They suggest that West Ham have offered the Hull City man £80,000 per week, although it is unclear as to whether he has actually accepted those terms, or if indeed there is a relegation clause inserted into the contract.
Hammers on verge of an outstanding deal
West Ham absolutely must get this deal over the line. They are in real relegation trouble, and in spite of adding Tomas Soucek and Darren Randolph to their ranks, another one or two bodies are most definitely required.
Bowen has racked up 16 goals and seven assists in 29 Championship outings this season (Who Scored). The 23-year-old is a real talent. And if West Ham do end up paying him £80,000 per week as well as laying out £20 million for his services, that should be considered as good value for money for the east London outfit.
