There is no denying that West Ham have had many great strikers over the years and with recent media reports suggesting the Hammers are looking for more striking talent, could it be time to show one of the current crop the door?

As I have said on a previous article on this site, I suggested that West Ham should get rid of Diafra Sakho in the summer due to his temperament problems. With a recent bid in the region of £11 million from Sunderland on the table, should the Hammers pull the trigger now and let him go?

I personally think they should because yes, Sakho is our best striker at the club in terms of pace, but for me, the off field problems this season have made me doubt whether his mind is fully on the football. Also with the amount of money Sunderland are willing to spend, West Ham can get a decent fee for him and reinvest that money into another part of the squad.

The only down side to letting Sakho go now is if West Ham fail to get in another striker. West Ham have bid in for 5 players at the time of writing this article, but let’s not forget West Ham have been turned down for a few strikers already this summer so the chances of getting one in straight away is looking more and more difficult.

Overall, I think West Ham should sell Sakho as we may never be able to raise this kind of fee again and then use some of that money to go out and get another striker alongside the replacement for Diafra.
