Shock claim that Edin Dzeko is an option for West Ham United

West Ham United are allegedly a possible option for Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb who claim that Inter could move the 36-year-old on this summer in order to make way for Romelu Lukaku and potentially Paulo Dybala.

The Hammers were linked with a move to sign Dzeko last summer and we outlined here on Hammers News how he wouldn’t be a terrible signing.

He certainly would have been better than bringing in nobody at all!

David Moyes desperately needs to bring an elite centre-forward to the London Stadium this summer.

Now, we’re not saying that we would be happy if Dzeko was the only striker signings Moyes made. But if he was signed in addition to a top-class, younger centre-forward, then we would be more than happy…

West Ham an option for Edin Dzeko

Tuttomercatoweb claim that the Hammers and Spanish side Valencia are both options for the 36-year-old striker as Inter Milan look to free up some salary space at the San Siro.

He really wouldn’t be the worst addition in the world for one season.

The 124-capped Bosnia and Herzegovina international bagged an impressive 118 goals and 55 assists in 259 games for Roma before joining Inter Milan where he racked up 17 goals and 10 assists in 49 outings (Transfermarkt).

He has scored 371 goals in 808 games for club and country throughout his illustrious career to date (Transfermarkt).

Dzeko has won a Bundesliga title and two Premier League titles during his time in the game as well.

The Inter Milan ace is a proven striker. And he may not be a bad option on a free transfer as long as Moyes brings in a marquee striker signing as well at the 36-year-old.

He is very good when playing with his back to goal, possesses exceptional technical ability, is very strong in the air and would provide adequate cover for Michail Antonio.

His winning experience could prove to be vital for the Hammers next season as well. We just don’t have that many proven winners in our team.

Some may be against West Ham signing Edin Dzeko this summer. However, we honestly believe that the Inter Milan forward might be able to add something to Moyes’s squad that we currently don’t have.
