Said Benrahma’s move to West Ham United is in serious doubt after a journalist with connections at the club claimed the Algerian has failed his medical.
West Ham fans have been patiently waiting for the announcement of Benrahma.
Reliable insiders ExWHUemployee and Claret & Hugh both claimed the deal should be announced today before the 5pm transfer deadline.
West Ham fans’s worst fears materialise
Many fans expected Benrahma’s signing to be announced yesterday after reports he had agreed terms and taken a medical (Sky Sports).
But no announcement was forthcoming.
There has been a suggestion since that Benrahma’s medical is being continued on deadline day as it reaches squeaky bum time for transfers.
But now Darren Lewis, who is well connected at West Ham, has claimed Benrahma has failed his medical putting his£30m move in jeopardy (The Mirror).

“Said Benrahma has failed his medical, placing his £25million move to West Ham back into jeopardy,” Lewis claimed this lunchtime.
“West Ham will work until the deadline to find a solution.”

If true and West Ham fail to get the deal done, it will complete a miserable summer in the transfer market for David Moyes.
Vladimir Coufal and unfaniced defender Craig Dawson have been the only new arrivals.
Failure to land Benrahma or King will make it a miserable window for Moyes
Coufal looks an astute piece of business.
But after an upturn in form West Ham fans hoped some quality additions would help the club push on in the Premier League.
Whether the Benrahma development means West Ham will now push again for Josh King remains to be seen.
But with just five hours to go until the window slams shut, time is against the Hammers.
