West Ham United favourite Robert Snodgrass has revealed he is emotional about leaving the club ahead of an imminent move to West Bromwich Albion.

What Mark Noble and Declan Rice said about striker backs up insider’s claim

According to widespread reports, former West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has offered the 33-year-old midfielder a permanent deal at West Brom.

Snodgrass has made six appearances for West Ham this season and is deemed surplus to requirements.

Snodgrass set for Baggies move but other Prem clubs are interested

Sky Sports claims other Premier League clubs are also interested in the West Ham fan favourite.

But West Brom are said to be favourites to seal a deal for the former Scotland international.

News of Snodgrass’s impending departure saw an out-pouring of love from West Ham fans.

The ex Leeds star has been a consummate professional during his time in east London after signing from Hull for £10m.

The making of a West Ham favourite

He was publicly ridiculed by West Ham owner David Sullivan who told The Guardian his sons ‘begged’ him not to sign Snodgrass.

And he was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa for a season too.

But he received an apology from Sullivan and put the episode behind him. Snoddy then became a key squad member on and off the pitch at West Ham.

Popular among his teammates and fans, it is clear from the reaction Snodgrass will be missed at West Ham.

And the player himself revealed he is emotional about leaving.

Snoddy emotional ahead of Hammers departure

Responding to a video montage put together by a West Ham fan, Snodgrass posted a crying emoji and said: “Last thing I needed to see at this time.”

It is not clear whether West Ham have any plans to replace Snodgrass.

But given his ability to operate as a central midfielder as well as a winger, David Moyes is living dangerously.

His departure leaves the manager with only ageing captain Mark Noble as backup to Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

If he leaves West Ham for West Brom in a permanent deal as reported, then Snodgrass will be able to play against the Hammers when the two sides meet at the London Stadium in less than two weeks.
