In what is a huge U-turn, West Ham United apparently won’t be signing Denis Zakaria over the next few days now.
According to Claret and Hugh – a website with very close contacts to David Sullivan – West Ham have denied that Denis Zakaria will be moving to the London Stadium imminently.

However, it seems that Hammers boss David Moyes is in no way close to bringing the 26-year-old Juventus midfielder to the London Stadium.
Well, that’s the noise coming from inside the club anyway…

According to Claret and Hugh, the claims suggesting that the Swiss midfielder is on the verge of joining the Hammers are simply not true.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if this one went through later on in the window but as things stand, there is clearly not much movement.

Moyes obviously needs to sign a top-class central midfielder with pace and power to burn.
Zakaria has been on the West Ham manager’s radar for quite some time now, and for around £17 million, he would be a very useful addition to the Scot’s ranks.
He is in no way capable of replacing Declan Rice on his own though, let’s make that very clear from the start.
The Juventus man would add some much needed power to our central midfield ranks but if he doesn’t join us, I certainly won’t be losing any sleep.
