Reported West Ham target Max Aarons could cost £30m, but owners surely won’t pay up

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Norwich City will demand around £30 million for alleged West Ham target Max Aarons.

Reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee claimed last month that the east London outfit want to sign the 19-year-old Canaries starlet.

West Ham will have their work cut-out if they are to sign Aarons, however.

Not only will he allegedly cost around £30 million, but the Daily Mail claims that Tottenham and Arsenal both want to sign the Norwich teen.

Aarons is one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League, and £30 million seems more than reasonable.

Will the Hammers owners be prepared to spend that kind of cash?

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is probably no.

David Sullivan and David Gold have history of doing things on the cheap.

Despite making some big signings in the summer including £45 million Sebastien Haller and £24 million Pablo Fornals, they recouped around £50 million in player sales.

If the east London outfit are to make genuine progress, the owners need to show some real ambition. And going for someone like Aarons would prove that they want to take West Ham forward.

The 19-year-old possesses blistering pace and plays with attacking intent. He would offer the Hammers an entirely different threat down the right hand side.

The Norwich ace is also a very good defender. He is a tenacious tackler and has great positional sense for someone so young.

All around, he would be a superb addition for West Ham. But don’t expect too much Hammers fans. £30 million might prove to be just too much for the current ownership.
