According to a report from Italian media outlet FC Inter News, West Ham would have to pay just €22 million (£18.6 million) for Inter Milan hitman Gabriel Barbosa. And the Brazilian would demand just £80,000 per week.

The Daily Mail claimed last month that the Hammers want to sign the 23-year-old striker.

Barbosa, commonly known as ‘Gabigol’ spent last season on loan in Brazil with Flamengo, and he was absolutely on fire.

He scored 36 goals in 41 games and he showed what he is capable of on a consistent basis.

The Premier League would be quite the step up for the South American, however. So signing him would not come without any risk.

Barbosa does seem to have all of the tools needed to be a success in England, however.

And FC Inter News claims that Gabigol is a wanted man. The Italian publication suggests that as well as West Ham, Crystal Palace, Schalke, Valladolid and Flamengo all want to sign him.

It could be argued that the Hammers have the most potential and the highest ceiling out of all the clubs mentioned.

And the offer of regular first-team action might just tempt Barbosa into moving to the London Stadium.

One thing’s for sure, if West Ham do manage to acquire the Brazilian’s services, it could end up being one seriously good signing for the east London outfit.
