Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden remains keen on an exit this summer. Hayden wants to move down south for family reasons and he could be leaving this summer.
According to The Northern Echo, four Premier League clubs – including West Ham – are thinking about this move. Newcastle rate Hayden at £15m and four clubs could launch a bid.
Alongside West Ham, Brighton and Hove Albion are named as the other club most likely to sign Hayden. But Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers have considered the former Arsenal man too.
Where would Isaac Hayden fit in at West Ham?
West Ham have signed Pablo Fornals this summer so signing a central midfield is no longer the priority. Instead, Manuel Pellegrini will try to sign a new striker.
But West Ham could move for another defensive midfielder later in the window to provide cover for Declan Rice. Pellegrini will weigh up his options with Hayden reportedly on his radar.
Last season, Hayden caught the eye for Newcastle with some dominant midfield displays. The 24-year-old is young, English, proven in the Premier League and keen on a move down south.
The Chelmsford-born midfielder would surely see West Ham as his ideal destination. But at £15m, West Ham probably have other options ahead of him in the pecking order.
