According to a report from the Sun, West Ham are demanding £10 million from Bologna, Sassuolo and Fiorentina for Pedro Obiang.
The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth £4.3m, according to the Telegraph.
He has gone on to make 116 appearances for West Ham, and he’s a popular figure at the London Stadium.
The Spaniard still has three years remaining on his current contract with the Hammers. After the arrival of Pablo Fornals, however, and the recent emergence of Declan Rice, he seems to have little future in east London.
And if West Ham do manage to get £10 million for the 27-year-old, who earns £55,000 per week according to Spotrac, it would surely have to be considered as excellent business for the east Londoners.
The Hammers have plenty of options in the middle of the park. So it it unlikely that Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to replace Obiang, if he is indeed sold.
The majority of West Ham fans will always remember the midfielder for his thunderbolt strike away at Tottenham in January 2018.
And he will undoubtedly leave the club on good terms.
Although if they get £10 million for him, Hammers fans will surely be more than than happy.
