According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham will have to pay just £12 million if they want to sign Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Toure in January.
Football Insider claimed last week that the Hammers were lining up a January swoop for the 25-year-old midfield destroyer.
West Ham are incredibly lightweight in the middle of the park. So signing someone of Toure’s stature would be a great move from the east London outfit.
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, the Frenchman is an absolute powerhouse. He is the box-to-box midfielder that the Hammers have been craving for at least 18 months now – probably since they sold Cheikhou Kouyaté to Crystal Palace in 2018.
If West Ham are to kick on in the new year and make a push once again for the top seven or eight, signing someone like Toure will be an absolute necessity.
And for just £12 million, it would be an absolute steal for the Hammers.
The Frenchman is ideally suited to the robust nature of the Premier League. And if West Ham do manage to bring him to east London in January, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for them.
