The Blues signed the 25-year-old from Monaco for around £40 million in the summer of 2017 (BBC).

But the French midfielder really struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

He was loaned out to AC Milan for the 2018/19 campaign and then Monaco for the 2019/20 season.

And now Le 10 Sport claims that West Ham could rescue Bakayoko from his nightmare spell at Chelsea.

It is very clear to see that the 25-year-old doesn’t have a future at Chelsea with Frank Lampard at the helm.

The Frenchman is a defensive midfielder by trade. He has a gangly, free-flowing style similar to that of Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

In 20 league outings for Monaco this season, Bakayoko has racked up one goal and two assists (Who Scored).

In those appearances, the Chelsea-owned ace has averaged 2.4 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 0.9 clearances and 1.3 dribbles (Who Scored).

Now, the 25-year-old obviously struggled at Chelsea, but he is clearly still a top talent.

And his energy and dynamism in central midfield could be a real boost for West Ham next season.

Le 10 Sport claims Bakayoko could be available for £31 million. That might just be a tad too expensive for the Hammers.

But if they could pick him up for closer to £20-25 million, he might just be worth the punt for West Ham.
