Report: West Ham want 5-goal midfielder Victor Camarasa after he leaves Cardiff City

West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers have set their sights on bringing Victor Camarasa back to the Premier League, according to The Daily Mail.

Camarasa spent last season on loan at Cardiff City, who were relegated to the Championship. Now, he has returned to Real Betis with an uncertain future.

Betis are weighing up whether to let him leave on loan again or sell him permanently. West Ham and Wolves are reportedly monitoring his situation and could make a summer move.

Brighton and Everton are two other teams chasing Camarasa. He will weigh up his options this summer with West Ham a possibility.

Camarasa has previously played for Levante, Alaves and Betis – all in Spain. But last summer, he moved to Wales, agreeing to a one-year loan with newly-promoted Cardiff.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful season in the Welsh capital, racking up five goals and four assists in 33 games. One of his goals came against West Ham in March.

Cardiff beat the Hammers 2-0 with Camarasa catching the eye. The Spaniard dictated play from midfield and tormented the Hammers by running rings around the under-performing players.

Camarasa played a big role in the opening goal with a surging run and then he doubled the Bluebirds’ lead in the second half.

Having witnessed the former Spain U21’s talent firsthand, Manuel Pellegrini could pounce. West Ham want a number of midfielder and Camarasa appears to be among the list of targets.
