Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium before the end of the January transfer window.

West Ham are in a very strong position. We are currently sitting three points adrift of fourth placed Tottenham.

If the Hammers board back Moyes in the transfer market this month, there is no telling how high we could finish.

One area on particular where the Scot will want to strengthen is his central midfield department at the London Stadium.

West Ham are in desperate need of more competition and cover for Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice.

With that in mind, Derby County ace Jason Knight could be the ideal January addition.

West Ham to swoop in for Derby ace?

The Irish Mirror claims West Ham want to sign the 19-year-old this month but could face competition from Crystal Palace and Burnley.

Jason Knight looks like a real talent.

Wayne Rooney is a huge fan of the midfielder, and compared the Derby ace to a young version of himself.

The teenager has played a key role for the Rams this season and has proven to be one of the most important players Rooney has at his disposal.

Knight has scored two goals in 22 Championship appearances (Transfermarkt).

He is an orthodox central midfielder, but he can also operate in the number 10 position.

This is exactly the kind of signing West Ham should be making. With Derby’s long-awaited takeover still far from certain, it would be no surprise to see the current ownership cash in on one of their prized assets.

And Jason Knight would be a really exciting addition for the Hammers.
