West Ham United have put the brakes on contract talks with David Moyes according to a report from The Daily Mail.

The Hammers owners are allegedly concerned by the ongoing financial impact of the global health crisis.
West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have already triggered a 12-month extension on Moyes’s deal. So the Scot will definitely be at the London Stadium next season.
The Hammers have undoubtedly been heavily hit by the fact that no fans have been allowed in stadiums since March 2020.

Let’s have it right though. Tying down Moyes to a new long-term deal should be a matter of priority for West Ham.
West Ham delaying David Moyes contract talks is baffling
The Daily Mail’s report just doesn’t make much sense to us.
If we failed to tie Moyes down to a new deal, and he was tempted to leave, then we would just have to employ a new manager anyway.

The 58-year-old has worked absolute wonders since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019.
Incredibly, Moyes has West Ham fighting for a place inside the top four with just four games remaining.
If we end up finishing inside the top six and qualifying for some kind of European football, the Hammers owners need to get Moyes tied up for three or four years.
Delaying that could be a big mistake. Especially if one of the game’s massive clubs like Celtic come in for him.
We all know out owners too well, however. It would surprise literally nobody if they failed to give Moyes what he deserves and ended up losing him as a result.
