According to a report from Club Doria 46, West Ham United are leading the race to sign Spezia striker M’Bala Nzola.
The Hammers’ need for an established centre-forward has already been well documented.
David Moyes absolutely must sign at least one new striker this month if we are to have any chance of pushing on for the Europa League places.
With Sebastien Haller gone and Michail Antonio nowhere near match fit, signing a top class centre-forward is now a matter of urgency for West Ham.
One of the names already linked with a move to the London Stadium is Spezia ace M’Bala Nzola.
Calcio Mercato claimed that David Moyes was tracking the French hitman.
And now Club Doria 46 suggests that the Hammers are leading the race to sign the Spezia front-man.
West Ham leading the race for M’Bala Nzola
The 24-year-old has been on fire in Italy this season, scoring nine goals in 13 Serie A outings for Spezia (Transfermarkt).
The Frenchman is an industrious striker, is strong when playing with his back to goal but is also willing to make those tireless runs into the channels.
Nzola is a decent finisher as well. Nine goals in 13 games is testament to that.
The Spezia ace seems to have all of the attributes needed to succeed in England. Quite how much West Ham will have to pay for the 24-year-old, however, remains to be seen. And more to the point, will the Hammers’ board be prepared to back David Moyes if Spezia demand a large fee?
That is the real question. And we should have an answer very soon.
