Reports have once again resurfaced claiming that West Ham want to sell Carlos Sanchez in January.

The 33-year-old joined the Hammers from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £3.8 million, according to Viola Nation.

He has been a total flop at West Ham, however.

The 88-capped Colombia international has made just 14 appearances for the Hammers. And he has failed to make any kind of impact whatsoever.

Sanchez, who earns £50,000 per week according to Spotrac, is quite clearly not good enough for the Premier League. That’s the bottom line.

And it seems as though Manuel Pellegrini is finally realising that too.

The Daily Mail claims that West Ham want to sell Sanchez for a cut-price deal in January.

The midfielder’s current contract with the Hammers expires in the summer of 2020, however, so the question must be asked: Who on earth would want to actually spend money on the South American?

Surely if Sanchez is to join any other club, at least a top tier team, it will be on a free transfer in the summer.

And when the Colombian does leave West Ham, there will not be any sad faces amongst the club’s fans.

His signing symbolises the Hammers’ poor recent recruitment. And the sooner he leaves the club, the better for everyone involved with the Hammers.
