West Ham have allegedly been told to pay €70 million (£63 million) for Torino hitman Andrea Belotti, according to Claret and Hugh.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claimed last week that the Hammers are keen on signing the Italy international:
That move seems to be highly unlikely now, however,
Claret and Hugh claims that West Ham have been told that they will have to ay £63 million for the striker.
Belotti is a top class centre-forward, but the reported price of £63 million surely puts him out of the Hammers’ range.
The 25-year-old boasts in impressive goalscoring record during his time with Torino. He has racked up 70 goals in 148 appearances for the Serie A outfit, and he is one of the most highly-coveted forwards in Europe.
Belotti Overpriced?
Belotti scored 17 goals in 39 outings last season. And West Ham would expect a better return on their investment, for the price being quoted.
Manuel Pellegrini might just be forced to pursue the Italian hitman, however, if West Ham do miss out on Gomez
Salomon Rondon is set for a switch to China and Aleksandar Mitrovic has signed a new contract with Fulham. So the Chilean’s options are becoming more limited by the day.
Much will depend on whether Torino will actually be willing to drop their valuation of Belotti.
He is an elite striker, but he is surely not worth what the Italian side are demanding for his signature.
And West Ham’s search for a striker will most probably continue to rumble on because of this.
