The 23-year-old left-back has really impressed in the MLS this season.
The Daily Mail claims that the German could be picked up for a bargain fee in January – just £3.5 million. And that will surely appeal to the Hammers.
West Ham boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for a new left wing-back either in January or next summer.
Arthur Masuaku has really impressed in the role this season. We massively lack any kind of strength in depth, however.
And should the 27-year-old suffer an injury, we could be in real trouble.
The Daily Mail reckons that Moyes could move to solve that issue by signing Philadelphia Union left-back Kai Wagner in January.
Stats
The 23-year-old has racked up one goal and two assists in 14 MLS games this season (Who Scored).
In those outings, Wagner averaged 1.5 tackles, one interception, 0.9 clearances and 0.7 dribbles per game (Who Scored).
The German would be a sensible addition for West Ham, and a cheap one at that.
He is athletic, dynamic and possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
This one seems like a win-win for the Hammers.
