Rumours linking West Ham with Yann M’Vila have resurfaced. According to the print edition of L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), West Ham’s interest in M’Vila is ‘notable’.
The Hammers could be the market for a new central midfielder this summer. Declan Rice, Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble and Jack Wilshere will be vying for spots.
But the Irons could upgrade on Pedro Obiang and Carlos Sanchez. And this could convince Manuel Pellegrini to firm up his interest in M’Vila.
He currently plays for Saint-Etienne, where he has a strong relationship with manager Jean-Louis Gasset. But Gasset could be sacked, leaving M’Vila’s future uncertain.
West Ham are one of the clubs monitoring this situation. Although West Ham are not the only club keen, they are thought to be ‘courting’ the Frenchman.

Who is Yann M’Vila?
M’Vila is a tenacious, tough-tackling, powerful midfielder. He operates in central midfield for Saint-Etienne and he has plenty of experience under his belt.
During his career, the 28-year-old has played for Rennes, Rubin Kazan and Inter Milan. He also spent a season in England, playing Premier League football on loan at Sunderland.
West Ham could offer the 22-cap France international the chance to add to his 37 Premier League appearances. If Gasset leaves, we could see a bid from West Ham.
